HER NAME IS RIO........
The name Rio de Janiero is a bit of a misnomer as this city isn't on a river at all but on a bay.
With Christ the Redeemer over us !
Alice donning one of the many costumes on made for the Carnival.
David was worryingly enthusiastic about trying on all the fantastic and fabulous costumes...a habit adopted during his Widow Twanky days I should think!!
With Copacabana Ipanema and Leblon beaches in the background.

Hi guys
Happy Christmas and New Year!!Sorry not to have spoken sooner but thanks for your postcard - glad to hear you are all well and enjoying Brazil. Enjoying the photos enormously and especially the colourful headgear - a must for the shropshire social scene!
We had a bit of a do in the new year when we were involved in a coach crash in the Alps returning from the school ski trip -kids OK but both Fiona and I are recovering from surgery to a broken nose and a ruptured tendon in my right arm - now in a brace for 3 months!!So no huntin', shootin', fishin' or golfin' for a long time!!
Anyway, enough about us -all appears calm at Cound hall with electric gates now apparently in place to seal you off from the tenants!! Enjoy the next stage of your travels and we send you all much love. Oh, by the way, do you fancy having a hunt fashion show at Cound hall on 8th September??
lots of love
